To Upgrade SIM Card Programmer DECT to Support new SIM Card Versions

When you read a telephone’s SIM card into SIM Card Programmer DECT it will automatically look into its list of supported SIM card versions and compare them with the telephone’s SIM card version and with the telephone type, and from this select the best possible version supported.
Versions are numbered according to the following: "Telephone Type version 1.12", where "1" is the major digit and "12" is the minor digit.
If there is not a perfect match, i.e. the minor digits in the version numbers does not match, SIM Card Programmer DECT will choose from its list the SIM card version with a minor digit nearest below the telephone’s version. It will also only choose from versions with the same telephone type. Note also that when a SIM card version with a lower minor digit is selected, newer parameters supported by the telephone may not be visible in SIM Card Programmer DECT. You can check which version the SIM card has and which version SIM Card Programmer DECT supports by looking at the bottom right corner of the SIM Card Programmer DECT window. A small status bar indicator indicates something like the following: "Telephone Type SIM version: 1.12 File version: 1.12". This means that a SIM card for telephone type is read, it's version is 1.12 and SIM Card Programmer DECT uses it's supported version 1.12, i.e. it is a perfect match. If File version instead had been 1.11 it would not be a perfect match.
If there is not a match at all, e.g. the major digits are not the same or the telephone type is not supported, SIM Card Programmer DECT will issue an error message.
Hint: You can list the versions that the SIM Card Programmer DECT supports by opening the About dialog, this is done from the Help menu.
If a certain SIM card version is not supported, the preferred way is to add this version to SIM Card Programmer DECTs list of supported versions. This is accomplished by adding a so called parameter definition (*.def) file. If you need a new parameter definition file, contact your distributor. The files are named according to the following:
Telephone Type_1_12.def, means telephone type, version 1.12, Telephone Type_1_0.def, means telephone type, version 1.0 etc.
The new file(s) is placed under the \def directory in the SIM Card Programmer DECT installation directory. The SIM Card Programmer DECT must be restarted for changes to take effect. Check the About dialog to make sure that the new version is supported.
